Gus Tails
Gus strikes several poses, including some challenging ones, shares guard duties with Dyna and Dyna sunbathes.
Welcome to the fourth episode of Gus Tails where we take a look back at the life of Gus the Basset Hound. Last week in Episode 3 young Gus informs me of his environmental concerns, makes a fast friend with Dyna the feral cat, runs like the wind and a freight train and smiles at the camera.
Two things about Gus:
He knows how to strike an elegant pose. Here he is at rest, yet still alert and the soft light makes the whole scene seem like the work of an artist with Baroque stylings.
The Dude knows how to relax.
Gus occasionally put himself in a strange situation/position. In this case he decided to stick his head into one of Dyna’s cat sack beds. Note the blur of Gus’ tail. Even stuck in this strange position, Gus the Dude is happy.
Gus somehow strikes an elegant pose when trying to get on a chair in a unique way. He needed help in getting out of this predicament.
This was one of Gus’ favorite chairs and once comfortably settled in would use that expressive face to get favors and treats.
I told you this was one of his favorite chairs.
Of course, sometimes Gus needs to stretch and only a couch would really do.
Gus and Dyna often teamed up. While Gus rests Dyna keeps an eye on things.
Confident the stairway is safe and secure, Dyna turns her attention to the other side of the living room. Both of these photos are from March 2011.
To wrap up this week’s episode of Gus Tails, Dyna rests on one of Gus’ many beds.
I must admit that my entire knowledge of visual art I owe to Lynn, my far better half. One of her Bachelor’s degrees is in Art and I’ve gone to quite a few Art museums with her and Vanessa over the last last 30 years.
Next week in episode five of Gus Tails we will observe in still photos the amazing speed that only a Basset Hound can achieve.
