Advent Calendar 2024 - Day 0
Visits to Fitzhugh Brewing and Vista Brewing and the 2024 edition of Texas Craft Brewer's Guild limited edition artist glasses.
To see where this all started follow the link to my Prelude to Advent post.
On November 30, Small Business Saturday, created and originally promoted by American Express in 2010, Lynn and I visited two local breweries: Fitzhugh Brewing in Dripping Springs, and Vista Brewing in Driftwood.
Our goals were simple:
Enjoy a few good brews and
Get four of the 2024 Texas Craft Brewer's Guild limited edition artist glasses.
You can find more information about the glasses at Texas Craft Brewers Guild Small Business Saturday 2024.
At Fitzhugh Brewing we had two excellent pints:
Brew Deck Blonde Ale on the left - a nice light, crips and refreshing ale that comes in at 5.5% ABV and 15 IBUs.
No-Barley - a West Coast style Pale Ale that comes in at 5.4% ABV and 34 IBUs. The mix of millet, bucwheat, sorghum, quinoa and rice is what caught my attention. Very nice flavor this one has.
Just down the road from our home in Driftwood is Vista Brewing where we had two favorites of ours:
Vista LITE, an American light lager that comes in at 4.2% ABV.
Hezel, a Helles lager that comes in at 5.0% ABV.
All right, we got our glasses. I've cleaned out my collection of pint glasses to a manageable amount. It is now time to start whittling down my inventory of craft beers. Come back later today for my Day 1 post and every day through December 24th to see what I'm drinking.
