Welcome to the 13th episode of Gus Tails where we look back at the life of Gus the Basset Hound. In our last episode Episode 12 we looked at several photos of Gus and other animals (an alligator, Tiger the cat, a ram and an old Bassett in Colleyville, Texas).
This episode has photos from February and March of 2014. Gus at this time was a little over four years old, a young adult Bassett Hound in his prime.
Sometimes Gus would have enough of the world and he would turn his back to everyone in order to restore his energy. I’ve always liked this photo because it provides a good perspective of those mighty, beefy paws.
Gus is highly interested in something in this photo. I suspect someone had some good cheeses and sausages, two of his favorite treats.
Two of Gus’ closest friends: Louise and Currie. Louise is clearly wondering where her morning treat is and why I haven’t brought it to her yet.
Here we have Dyna, the feral cat, paying no attention to anyone in anyway. Note the bone under the ottoman. Gus has intentions on that bone.
Now having been disturbed by Gus, Dyna wonders why she must put up with such things. Gus make his intentions clear, the bone needs to refilled so he can happily gnaw on it.
A photo of Vanessa and Louise. As you can see, Louise has a superb sense of fashion and style.
Often Dyna preferred to look at the world from her own unique perspective.
Another example of Louise’s sense of style and color. Pink/fuchsia are good colors for Louise.
Gus always thought of himself as a lapdog and in this photo is sharing Vanessa’s lap with Louise.
To bring this episode of Gus Tails to a close - a video of Louise and Gus in a furious play session.
Next week in the 14th episode of Gus Tails Gus is a traveling Basset, on the road visiting friends and family.
