Gus Tails - Episode 18
When it is time for a nap, anything can serve as a pillow, the great outdoors, and another epic play battle. June-July, 2014.
Last week in Episode 17 of Gus Tails photos of Gus, Louise and Tiger the cat from the spring of 2014.
A lovely photo of Gus the Dude and Dyna the feral, but loving, cat enjoying a late afternoon in the back yard.
Of course, there were some mornings when even though the sun is bright Gus was not quite ready to face the day. This bright morning in June 2014 was definitely one of those days where Gus shaded an eye, but kept the other alert for any signs of snacks.
When it was time for a nap, even the smallest pillow would do. Here is one such example where Gus manages to fit on a pillow almost too small for his elegant self.
Later that same afternoon Gus adjusts his position so he can enjoy the cool floor and yet still provide support for his large noggin and splayed ears.
Then there was those times when the only thing that would do would be a bed designed just for him. Hmm, well, that’s not exactly true, the bed wasn’t designed for him. We would just find beds that fit him.
Dyna felt that any surface would do for a pillow. In this case, a shopping bag. After reading the latest issue of Golf Digest what better thing to do than take a nap?
Gus did love the outdoors. This was either at the end or the beginning of a long stroll in his dog stroller. I made many friends in my neighborhood taking Gus for long strolls as Gus, with those ears, that waddle and loving personality, always attracted lots of loving attention. He was a magnet for all that was good in people and animals.
Dyna hidden among the Mimosa trees in our backyard. West Columbia averages 50+ inches of rain a year. The end result of all that rain is that anything that can grow in a temperate climate will grow there. I planted these Mimosa trees from seeds. At the time of this photo the trees were about 12 feet tall.
Gus often enjoyed a nice nap on his hammock bed on the screened porch. Look at that jowl hanging out over the edge of his hammock.
A short video of Gus and Louise engaged in a fierce, epic but playful battle.
To end this week’s episode of Gus Tails what could be better than a photo of Gus settling in for one of his afternoon naps? Yeah, you’re right, there’s nothing better.
Next week in Episode 19 of Gus Tails, more secrets and never before seen photos of Gus and his friends will be revealed.
I totally agree with you! Gus was for sure “a magnet for all that was good in people and animals” 😊♥️
