Advent calendar 2024 - Day 12
A very good Brown Ale is a nostaglic nod to the no longer here Nutty Brown Amphitheater on Highway 290 in southwest Austin
Have you missed a day of Advent or two? You can always get to the previous day’s Advent post through a link like the one below. You can also find a link to the next published post at the end of older posts.
Yesterday, on Day 11 of Advent I enjoyed a wonderful Dunkel from Flensburger Brauerei in Germany.
Today I enjoyed a Nutty Brown Ale with Pecans (and vanilla beans) from Independence Brewing in Austin, Texas. This is a fall seasonal ale and I always buy a six pack or two when I find it in the stores. I’ve a hankering for Brown ales. I enjoy their stronger flavor and richness. Add pecans to the brew and one truly has a winner.
The Nutty Brown Amphitheater was located in southwest Austin for over 20 years when it closed in late 2021. It reopened as the Round Rock Amp in 2022.
I enjoyed today’s pecan influenced ale so much that over the next couple of days we are going to taste more pecan influenced ales. Round two of the pecan influenced ale frenzy can be found on Day 13.
