On Day 4 of Advent I experienced a sense of déjà vu with my second Dunkelweizen of this Advent season.
You can always get to my post for the previous day of Advent and the post for the next day through the links in every post.
I got an earlier start on day 5 of Advent with a pint of Aquabrew Shotgun Bock. That was sort of an unexpected experience as Aquabrew shutdown their one location in San Marcos, Texas roughly a year ago. Several of the Aquabrew brews were acquired by Alamo Beer Company in San Antonio, Texas. The Shotgun Bock went well with our popcorn and it was good to see that several of the Aquabrew brews live on with Alamo Beer Company.
Once we were back home Lynn made some chili and decided to add a little beer to the chili makings. She used a spare bottle of Paulaner Salvator Double Bock from the pantry but didn’t use the entire bottle and I was able to enjoy a short pour with dinner. Paulaner has been brewing Salvator, a strong Bavarian double Bock, for over 375 years. I am happy to say that Salvator went well with Lynn’s excellent chili.
Santa is feeling a little over-exposed so for my Day 6 post I will find a new place to stage my beer photo.
