Welcome to the 16th episode of Gus Tails where we look back at the life of Gus the Basset Hound. In our last episode (Episode 15) photos of Gus and a strange dog that no one remembers, photos of his friends Louise, Tiger and Dyna, and fearsome fight footage of Louise and Gus.
Sometimes a Gus has to take a rest while his good friend Louise keeps her eyes on things, assuring that Gus can rest with no worries.
Gus enjoying a bright warm day in West Columbia and investigating the foliage.
Video footage from May 2014 that provides absolute proof that Gus is a sprinter, able to amble at stunningly fast speeds for short distances. The video ends with Gus pushing his stroller down the street. Note how Gus get his head and his front paws in his stroller.
Gus loved to go on walks, but when he got tired that was it. He would find a little shade and some cool grass, lay down and refuse to walk any further. One time he did that when we were 200 yards from the house. I carried him (all 4o plus pounds as he wasn’t quite full grown) the rest of the way home. That evening I found a good dog stroller on Amazon and by the weekend Gus was strolling. I was a little concerned at first that he wouldn’t want to get in the stroller, but he didn’t hesitate at all. It was like he knew that my new job was to push him around the neighborhood.
Yes, more fearsome fight footage of Louise and Gus. Do not worry, no animals were hurt in this or the next video.
After such exertion Louise crashed hard on one of the living room chairs.
Louise surrounded by a few of her toys.
While Louise and Gus fought hard, Tiger acted as referee, assuring that the match was fair.
Next week Gus the Dude and his friends return in Episode 17 of Gus Tails.
